As of July 10, 2019, international visitors leaving Korea through international airports of Incheon, Gimhae, Gimpo, Jeju, and Daegu, as well as Busan Port can use the automated immigration system without prior registration. This change aims to create a smoother departure process at the participating locations, allowing tourists to enjoy a pleasant time in Korea even as they leave. Previously, the automated departure system was only available to registered foreigners residing in Korea who had additionally signed up with the Smart Entry System.
This automated departure service is available to all tourists ages 17 and older who completed the mandatory fingerprint and facial recognition registration process upon entry. Please note that the service is unavailable to people who did not register their fingerprint and photograph upon entry or those who have any immigration impediment, such as overstaying a visa or having entered the country illegally.
