This year, spring flowers are expected to bloom one to two days earlier than average, with the peak reaching Seoul around April 2-3, 2016.
Forsythia will signal the start of spring on March 14 at Seogwipo, Jeju. It will then continue to color the nation in gold, starting in the southern region March 15-25, reaching the central region March 25-30, and finally arriving in Gyeonggi-do and Gangwon-do regions around April 1.
Following in the path of forsythia, azaleas will decorate the mountains and hillsides from March 18 in areas around the southern coast and moving higher March 17-28, blooming in the central region March 27-April 2, and reaching the northern regions of Gyeonggi and Gangwon after April 3.
Please note that the dates above are merely forecast and the bloom period may change depending on changes in the weather.
