Following rave reviews of the first Kansong Treasures Exhibit, the Kansong Art and Cultural Foundation decided to showcase more of their valuable cultural assets by holding a second exhibition entitled, “Kansong Treasures Part 2: Bohwagak.” This second exhibition began July 2 and will run until September 28, 2014 at the Dongdaemum Design Plaza.
The Treasures of Kansong exhbition is a tribute to Jeon Hyeong-pil (1906–1962, pen name Kansong), the legendary art collector who devoted his life and fortune to preserve the precious relics of the Joseon Dynasty. Part 2 of the series unveils many paintings, pottery, calligraphy, books and much more. In particular, “The Portrait of a Beauty (미인도)," a painting by the well-known Joseon era landscape painter Shin Yun-bok, is expected to be one of the more popular items on display.
Admission to Kansong Treasures Part 2: Bohwagak is 8,000 won for adults and 6,000 won for students.
