The Muju Firefly Festival is held annually in the county of Muju-gun in Jeollabuk-do. This year’s festival will take place from June 7 to 15 at several venues in Muju-eup including Namdaecheon Stream and Bandi Land.

Marking its 18th year, the festival will be presenting a wide array of educational activities about nature, culture and art-related hands-on programs, traditional games, and food sampling events, all under the theme of “Go Back to Nature.” At Namdaecheon Stream, visitors can catch trout with their bare hands or embark on an exciting exploration of the magical firefly habitat (both programs are available on a first-come, first-served basis).

Admission to the festival is free of charge; however, fees may apply for participation in some hands-on programs.
