The picturesque Hongcheongang River in Gangwon-do, surrounded by spectacular scenery and a beautiful landscape, is the venue for this year’s Hongcheon Winter Festival. The festival is currently taking place and will run until January 19, 2014.
Now in its second year, the festival offers many activities for visitors to enjoy the wind, snow and ice this winter. Located by the river, Daemyung Vivaldi Park Ski World has a display of ice sculptures made by Korean ice sculptors, a sledding slope, and an ATV track. Visitors can also play some folk games and enjoy ice fishing. Admission tickets come with a 5,000 won voucher that can be used at the festival venue or at downtown shops in Hongcheon.
Admission to the festival is 12,000 won for adults and teens, and 10,000 won for kids (exclusive of rental fees).
