[Korea] Jarasum Int’l Jazz Festival 2013 kicks off Oct 3

The Jarasum International Jazz Festival 2013, one of Korea’s major music festivals, will be held on the beautiful Jaraseom Island in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, from October 3 to 6, 2013.

The festival celebrates its 10th anniversary this year with 131 bands from 24 countries coming together for four delightful autumn nights filled with the smooth vibes of live jazz music. This year’s lineup includes Lee Ritenour & Friends (U.S.A.), Abdullah Ibrahim (Republic of South Africa), Kenny Barron Trio, Steve Gadd (U.S.A.), and many others.

A one-day pass to the festival can be purchased on-site for 45,000 won.

Tip. Free Performances
The Jarasum International Jazz Festival also offers free performances for audiences to enjoy. Aside from Jaraseom Island, you can also catch these free performances at several other venues in Gapyeong-eup. This year, the additional venues include the multi-purpose playground inside Jarasum Camping, the Gapyeong-eup Office Plaza (250m from Gapyeong Intercity Bus Terminal), and the Old Gapyeong Station Plaza (100m from Gapyeong Intercity Bus Terminal).
