The Gimje Horizon Festival 2013, selected this year as one of Korea’s most representative festivals together with the Jinju Namgang Yudeung Festival, will take place at the Gimje Byeokgolje Reservoir area in Gimje-si, Jeollabuk-do, from October 2 to 6, 2013.
The city of Gimje is known for being the heart of Korea’s 5000-year-old farming culture and for Byeokgolje Reservoir, Korea’s oldest irrigation facility. Now in its 15th year, the festival will be hosting a wide-range of agriculture programs and traditional culture-related events.
Gimje is known as the region where the sky meets the ground, hence the festival of horizon. This autumn, join Gimje in celebrating the city’s agricultural heritage while enjoying the beautiful scenery and learning through hands-on activities.
