The Boryeong Mud Festival, one of Korea’s most representative summer festivals, will be taking place at Daecheon Beach in Boryeong-si, Chungcheongnam-do from July 19 to 28, 2013.

The festival theme for 2013 is “Exciting Mud Activities with People from around the World”. The festival is already drawing a lot of attention from local and international tourists. About 20 mud-related hands-on activities including the mud super slide, giant mud pool, colored-mud body painting, and mud sauna will be available at the festival along with various kinds of programs such as parades, exhibits and performances.

This unique mud festival started in July 1998 and has now grown into a major festival widely known throughout the nation as well as overseas. It has attracted the media’s attention and has gained press coverage through AP (USA), Reuters (UK), and AFP (France).

Admission to the festival is 10,000 won for adults and 8,000 won for teens and kids.
