Studio Ghibli’s Layout Exhibition is to be held at Hangaram Art Museum, part of Seoul Arts Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul, from June 22 to September 22, 2013.
This special exhibition showcases a collection of animation layout designs* of Studio Ghibli, a Japanese animation production studio that is considered one of the world’s top three major animation studios, along with Pixar and Disney. On display at the exhibition will be a range of around 1,300 layouts including famous animations like “My Neighbor Totoro,” “The Spiriting Away of Sen and Chihiro”, and “Howl’s Moving Castle.”
Admission to the exhibition is 15,000 won for adults, 12,000 won for teens and 10,000 won for kids.
Layout designs require every skill needed to produce an animation image, including the image’s specific drawing and blueprint. A distinct feature is that each layout design is hand drawn.
