[Korea] The 15th Hampyeong Butterfly Festival Begins April 26

The 2013 Hampyeong Butterfly Festival will take place at the Hampyeong Expo Park in Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do Province from April 26 through May 8.

Marking its 15th year, the festival will feature various exhibitions, hands-on programs, and performances related to butterflies, flowers, and insects. Twelve exhibitions including a butterfly and insect exhibition and succulent plant exhibition as well as twenty natural ecology themed hands-on programs are expected to be among the visitor favorites at this year’s festival. The ‘Flying Butterflies’ event, where butterflies are released outdoors en masse, will take place once a day and promises to be eye-catching.

The Hampyeong Butterfly Festival was selected as a recipient of the 2012 International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA) World Festival & Event City Award. Admission to the festival is 7,000 won for adults, 5,000 won for teenagers and 3,000won for children.
