[Korea] Damyang’s Bamboo Festival Begins May 3

“Damyang Bamboo Festival” is the city’s main festival, and takes place from May 3-8 at Juknokwon (bamboo garden) and Gwanbangjerim Forest in Damyang, Jeollanam-do Province.

Marking its 15th year, the festival has prepared exhibitions and experience programs wishing all visitors “Extreme Good Luck (운수대통, Unsudaetong).” Major programs include a flower tea exhibition, treasure hunt in the bamboo forest, and “healing experience” in the bamboo forest.

Visitors are also invited to try catching fish with a bamboo basket and going for a ride on a bamboo raft. Admission to the festival is free, but visitors must pay a small admission fee to enter Juknokwon.
