The Jeju Canola Flower Festival is to take place at Canola Flower Village sites in Udo-myeon, Jeju-si, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province from April 19 to 21.
Udo Island boasts particularly breathtaking scenery in April created by the colorful combination of canola flowers in full bloom, the bright blue water, and rustic stone walls. The Jeju Canola Flower Festival takes place yearly, and will begin with a gigantic pizza-making event. An array of various programs will follow, including a walk across Udo, hands-on experience program related to Jeju's famous female divers, horseback riding, a fireworks show, and musical performances.
Some parts of Udo are a part of Udo Maritime Park, so visitors are required to pay a small admission fee to enter the island. Admission to the festival is free.
*Udo: It is the largest of the islands off Jeju-do Island. It was named “U-do” because the island’s shape looks like a cow that is lying down. (The Chinese character for cow is read as ‘U’ in Korean.) The entire island of Udo has a long-standing reputation for its scenic beauty.
