[Korea] Seokchon Lake Cherry Blossom Festival 2013 Begins April 12

The Seokchon Lake Cherry Blossom Festival is slated to take place on April 12-14 at Songpa Naru Park (Seokchon Lake) in Songpa-gu, Seoul.

Songpa Naru Park is the only lake park in downtown Seoul. It has a variety of flowers and trees planted along the edge of the lake including cherry blossoms, royal azaleas, pine trees, and willows. The nightscape of downtown Seoul together with the cherry blossoms in full bloom along the lake makes this area a well known destination for both tourists and locals alike

During the festival period, various programs including a classical music concerts, fusion gugak (traditional music) concert, magic show, and modern dance performance are taking place along with fun activities such as face painting and folk games. Admission to the park and the festival are free.

Tip. Folk Game Olympics
Folk Game Olympics will take place on April 13, 11:00 - 14:30 (3hr 30 min) at Seoul Nori Madang inside the Songpa Naru Park. Local and international visitors get together to compete with each other in folk games, providing amusement.
