Major theme parks in the Seoul Metropolitan area including Lotte World, Everland, and Seoul Land are holding a series of festivals to celebrate the arrival of spring.
The Masquerade Festival at Lotte World was the first to open on March 1. The festival features a parade of 100 dancing characters dressed up in medieval European masks costumes. Another parade features characters from “Alice in Wonderland.” The festival runs through April 28.
Everland will host a Tulip Festival from March 22 through April 28. Around 1,200,000 tulip flowers will be planted across the park in an array of patterns and themes.
Seoul Land will hold its Character Festival from March 23 through June 9. Six rides will be transformed into new themes, including the Canimal Circus and Vroomiz Hill, based on six different popular cartoon characters. The cartoon characters will also appear in parades and visitors will have the opportunity to take pictures with them at photo zones set up around the park.
All visitors who enter the theme park gates during the designated period will be able to take part in the festivals. More information is available over the phone or on the homepages of each theme park.
