Daegwallyeong Snow Festival is one of the major winter festivals in Korea and is taking place from January 19 to February 5 at the area around the Daegwallyeong highlands training ground in Daegwallyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do.
Marking the 21st anniversary, a collection of giant snow sculptures of different themes will be displayed and a variety of performances and events will be taking place. The festival has prepared a more diverse set of programs this year to wish for a successful hosting of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. Assorted experience programs include ice and snow sledding, snow rafting, snow racing, bobsleighing, and igloo experiencing.
Admission to the festival is free, but experience programs cost between 5,000 – 10,000won each.
