Sejong Center for the Performing Arts will hold a New Year’s concert under the theme of ‘Korean Traditional Arts’ at the Grand Theatre on January 9th, 2013.
Comprised of 6 parts, the concert will present a wide variety of Korean traditional performing arts genres including Pansori (Korean traditional opera where a vocalist sings to the drum beats), Daegeum (Korean traditional wind instrument that dates back to Silla Dynasty BC 57~AD 935) performance, tight-rope walk (a traditional performance where a performer walks, runs, and even does a skit on a tight rope), and dance performance. Also, masters of each performing arts genre will be joining the Seoul Performing Arts Company to stage exhilarating performances together. Finally, boys and girls of the Seoul Metropolitan Junior Chorus will sing a winter song medley.
Tickets are sold online or onsite for prices ranging from 10,000 won to 50,000 won.
