[Korea] Bird-Watching Festival in Junam, December 1-3

Junam Wetlands Park (Junam Reservoir) is the nation’s largest migratory bird habitat. It is located in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do Province with about 10,000 to 20,000 migratory birds flying to the park. The Bird-watching Festival is held at the Junam Wetlands annually. This year, the festival is held from December 1st to 3rd, 2012.

Marking its 5th anniversary this year, the festival features various events under the theme of “Humans and Birds in Joyous Harmony”. Events include bird-watching, Ramsar Wetlands ecological observation, and a golden bell quiz about migratory birds. The festival will also have activities for visitors to try out such as playing traditional folk games, making arts and crafts, and trying out local specialties at the food market.

Anyone interested in the many fascinating aspects of bird migration and ecology can take part in the festival for free.
