‘Lotte World’, ‘Everland’, and ‘Seoul Land’, three major theme parks in Seoul’s metropolitan area, have already started Christmas Festivals. Various Christmas themed performances and parades take place under the backdrop of romantic and fairytale like atmospheres. Anyone who enters the theme parks can enjoy the festivals.
▲ Lotte World, ‘Christmas Grand Festival’
Lotte World’s ‘Christmas Grand Festival’ will run through Christmas day (December 25). The festival will have a gigantic 20m Christmas tree, a ‘Happy Christmas Parade’ featuring over 100 Christmas characters, a family musical covering many Christmas carols, and performances by a 40-member ‘Santa Band.’ A special at this year’s festival is a new visitor-participatory ‘Santa Village Tour’ event, which promises to entertain as Santa teams up with elves and fairies to give away gifts to visitors.
▲ Everland, ‘Christmas Fantasy’
Everland’s ‘Christmas Fantasy’ will take place through the end of this year (December 31). A ’White Christmas Parade’ will be carried out two times a day, every day, and a 13m high Christmas ‘Magic Tree’ welcomes visitors. The special this year is the ‘Nutcracker Pop-Up Adventure’ consisting of seven 5m high by 7m wide pop-up books based on Tchaikovsky’s ‘The Nutcracker.’
▲ Seoul Land ‘Christmas Party’
Seoul Land ‘Christmas Party’ will be held through December 25th. Major programs include a parade by the Santa dance team and other Christmas Characters. This event runs every weekend during the festival, and you can participate by applying on Seoul Land’s website. Additionally, there will be some special Christmas performances this year including a ‘Santa Clause and Scrooge Show,’ a ‘Magic Show,’ and a ‘Mime Show.’
