Jecheon-si City in Chungcheongbuk-do Province has recently emerged as a popular filming location for Korean movies and TV dramas.

They include two movies – “Gongbeom (Accomplice)” starring Son Yejin and “Three Joseon Angels” starring Ha Ji Won – which have yet to premiere; MBC* TV dramas “Arang and the Magistrate” and “Dr. Jin”; KBS* TV drama “The Princess’ Man”; and SBS* TV drama “Warrior Baek Dong Soo”. Moreover, Jecheon City Government is reported to be discussing the possibility of hosting the filming of KBS TV drama “Dream of the Emperor” and 10 more movies.

Meanwhile, Jecheon-si’s popularity as a filming location can be attributed to the plethora of naturally beautiful and historically significant sites such as Cheongpungho Lake, Uirimji Reservoir and Jerim, and Cheongpung Cultural Heritage Complex. Already, these sites are attracting many movie and TV drama fans to the Korean film industry’s new favorite city.
