The 2012 ICCN World Intangible Culture Festival will take place from October 19th to 28th at Imyeonggwan Guesthouse, Dano Culture Center, and the old Myeongju Elementary School site in Gangwon-do Gangneung.
This international festival, held by the Inter-City Intangible Cultural Cooperation (ICCN), aims to promote and protect the worldwide conservation mankind’s intangible cultural heritage such as traditional festivals, oral traditions, oral epics, customs, ways of life, traditional crafts, etc.
Over 100 teams from 29 cities in 23 different countries will participate in the festival bringing you rare and quality performances from home and abroad including 14 of the UNESCO registered intangible cultural heritages as the Tango of Argentina, the Verbuňk dance of the Czech Republic, and the Bećarac singing and playing from Eastern Croatia. There will also be a wide selection of events including hands-on experience programs, exhibitions and international conferences.
Admission tickets cost 10,000 won and 5,000 won for adults and children respectively. For a purchase of an admission ticket, a gift certificate worth half the price of the ticket will be provided. The said gift ticket is can be used at any store within the festival venue.
