The 2012 Itaewon Global Village Festival is slated to run from October 12th through 14th in the Itaewon Special Tourism Zone in Seoul.
This year, representatives of 30 foreign embassies in Korea, Itaewon merchants, and performance teams are expected to participate in the festival. Moreover, the main road between Noksapyeong and Itaewon subway stations (Seoul Subway Line 6) will be closed off for street parades and folk performances. In addition, there will be dozens of booths selling foods, handicrafts and other cultural items along the road.
Meanwhile, the Itaewon Global Village Festival first started in 2008 to encourage harmonious coexistence of local and foreign cultures, as well as to develop the Itaewon Special Tourism Zone.
