Every October, Dream Park, the landfill-turned-public-park in Incheon Seo-gu, opens its flower gardens and fields to the public, and celebrates one of its main flower species, the chrysanthemums.
Marking its 9th year, the Dream Park Chrysanthemum Festival will take place from October 11th through 21st, presenting chrysanthemums, cosmos flowers, wild flowers, and silver grass, and also showcasing 52,200 artworks created using chrysanthemums. In addition, visitors will have a chance to make pressed flower art, ride a raft on a reservoir inside the park, and participate in other experience programs.
Meanwhile, Dream Park was built on the former waste landfill constructed in 1992. It grows chrysanthemums and other wild flowers using the gas from the waste stored at the landfill. It is also equipped with cultural and sports facilities.
